Leadership

Kwok L. Tsui is a Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. His research interests include applied statistics, robust design and Taguchi method, experimental design, statistical process control, data mining, healthcare and public health surveillance, personalized health monitoring and elderly care.

Sait Tunc is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. His research focuses on application-driven theoretical problems and utilizes large-scale real-world databases, with particular emphasis on medical decision making and operational efficiency in health care delivery systems. His methodological interests include queueing theory, game theory, simulation and dynamic programming.

Members

Manish Bansal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. His research focuses on the theory of integer programming, stochastic and distributional robust optimization, and their applications in combinatorial optimization problems such as production planning, network design and facility location.

Kimberly P. Ellis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. Her research program addresses operational planning problems that arise in manufacturing and service systems.

Navid Ghaffarzadegan an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. His research interests include systems sciences and applications of system dynamics modeling in various managerial and policy contexts such as service enterprises, higher education, science policy, and health policy.

Niyousha Hosseinichimeh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. Her research focuses on developing and applying methods to improve health and healthcare systems.

Ran Jin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. His research focuses on data fusion in smart manufacturing, computation services, and cognitive-based interactive visualization.

Nathan Lau is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. His primary research interests are human-automation interaction, human-machine interface, and human performance assessment in safety-critical systems.

Sol Lim is Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. Her research combines principles from human factors and ergonomics (HF/E) and data analytics to develop new methods that can be used to improve human performance and well-being in daily lives, occupational settings, and constructed environments for diverse populations.
